Centre for Physical Activity and Chronic Disease

Centre Lead: Dr Stuart Raleigh and Dr Florence Kinnafick

The Centre for Physical Activity and Chronic Disease (PACD) will conduct both fundamental and applied research into the factors that can influence the ability of individuals, and populations, to engage in appropriate levels of physical activity. The Centre will also aim to understand how exercise can be personalised and whether it can be used to prevent or treat a number of chronic diseases.  Staff working within PACD are drawn from a variety of disciplines and our projects involve elements of biochemistry and genomics, occupational therapy, physiology and psychology.
