Dr Sarah Neill will work with Professor Linda Shields in the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Indigenous Health at CSU to develop international research in child health. Sarah will be sharing her expertise in qualitative methodologies and in researching with families with acutely ill children under five years of age in the community. Sarah and Linda are already in discussions with international colleagues about the next steps for child centred and family centred care, the philosophical foundations of children’s nursing.
Sarah commented: “The post offers the University of Northampton opportunities for international research which adds to our work in child health for the Centre for Family Life in the Institute of Health and Wellbeing. I share research areas of interest with Professor Linda Shields at CSU, who provides differing and yet complementary perspectives (Linda is a quantitative researcher and I am most definitely qualitative).”
