Lorna Tweed, Doctoral Researcher with the IoHW joined Stuart Linnell on his Radio Northampton breakfast show on Wednesday 5th October to talk about the Get Set to Go Project. GStG seeks to improve mental health recovery via sport and exercise. The evaluation project, spanning 3 years, assesses the effectiveness of this nationwide physical activity initiative which is being implemented locally (in 8 sites across England), digitally and using national comms bursts. The multi-level, multi component project uses a range of standard and creative qualitative and quantitative data collection methods including samples from a multitude of participants (service users, peer navigators, sports providers, and peer researchers). The information collected will provide details into the effectiveness of the intervention in terms of improvements to mental health recovery and the feasibility and acceptability of such a programme.
