Katie Jones BSc (Hons) PGDip MBA is the Manager of the Institute of Health and Wellbeing and responsible for ensuring the aims and objectives of the Institute are met by working in collaboration with academic colleagues from within and beyond the University, commissioners, funders and stakeholders.
After graduating, Katie worked in the voluntary sector for four years managing volunteers and raising significant funds to deliver grassroots community projects in Brixton and across Northamptonshire. Katie comes to higher education with demonstrable experience of evidencing the impact of interventions to their beneficiaries and a strong understanding of what stakeholders need in order to use research evidence.
Katie joined the University of Northampton in 2008, working in the central research office supporting academics to secure grant funding for their research. Later, Katie was promoted to Research Excellence Framework Manager, to manage the University’ submission to REF2014. As a result, Katie comes to the Institute with substantial knowledge of the UK research sector, including research funders and their priorities, and a commitment to delivering research that has benefit beyond academia.
